The 16U Tropical Meltdown team came into the tournament with a chip on their shoulder. Coming off a heartbreaking Harrow Invite loss, they beat the Lumberjacks in game 1 by an unbelievable 14 goals with a 15 save shutout by Preston Vandercoff (Team Maryland 2010 AAA). With the momentum, the 16U Elite team defeated the East Coast Dragons and Top Speed Selects. After going 3-0 in round robin, the 16U Elite team faced a tough matchup in the semifinals against Valor HC who went 2-1 in round robin and featured kids who made the National Player Development Camp. They ended up defeating Valor to book themselves a ticket to the finals after going down by 2 five minutes into the game. Finally, they played Mobile Hockey Development in the final. They were down by 2 with 6 minutes left but capitalized on a power play and never looked back ending the tournament with a 4-3 win over Mobile thanks to a gamewinner from Bear Tang (Shanghai Guojing 2010)
The 15U Tropical Meltdown team came into the tournament with a semifinal loss to Coast Elite in the Harrow Invite. They wanted revenge for the Harrow Invite and never looked back. They ended up winning the finals over Mobile Hockey Development 5-0. They ended the tournament with 42 goals for and only 6 goals against.
With a final goal differential of 22-10, our 14's had a great start to the tournament. Only losing to Mobile Hockey in overtime in the preliminary rounds, they came into playoffs rolling. In the finals, Jack Zavratsky of U14 Jr. Eagles Elite scored the OT winner.
The 15's had a great run at the Harrow Invite. Coming out strong with a 11-1 win over Northeast HC, they went into playoffs against another incredibly strong Hallzy Films HC team featuring players from SPA and Mount St. Charles. After earning their spot in the semis, they lost to Coast Elite which featured players from NV River Rats and Minutemen Flames who were 7th and 3rd in the country.
Our 16's had a final GD of 27-12 and rolled through the competition beating some tough teams such as Mobile Hockey which featured players drafted to the USHL and unfortunately lost in a close matchup to a strong EC Vikings team.
Our U16 Empire FC squad came out strong with a 3-0 win over Bolts NL and unfortunately lost in the preliminary and the championship to a strong Fanum FC squad 3-2.
